McDonald’s seeks a federal Manager for its U.S. Government Relations team. The position will lead external engagement with federal elected officials, Administration officials, regulatory agencies trades, and other federal stakeholders. The Manager will be the primary point of contact for members of the Tri-Caucus (Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC)) and will support the work of the two federal Directors of U.S. Government Relations who work on issues which include agriculture, energy/environment, health, tax and labor.
In collaboration with the two Directors, the Manager will develop and execute a proactive engagement plan to enhance brand reputation. S/he will work closely with the two Directors to plan, coordinate and execute the activities of the U.S. government relations team in the areas of outreach, events, message development, issue management, influencer engagement, policy communications and thought leadership. The Manager will interface with key internal (owner-operators, GR and other departments, corporate and regional management) and external stakeholders (trade associations, legislative consultants, and other industry professionals).
The successful candidate will serve as an ambassador for the McDonald’s Brand, possess significant political acumen and have federal government relations expertise and strategic planning capabilities. Strong writing, presentation and relationship-development skills are essential as this position requires communication to a variety of audiences. This position reports to the Director of Health and Nutrition and will be a member of the Corporate Relations team, led by Global Chief Communications Officer, Robert Gibbs.
