Job Description

Administers the Federal Political Action Committee. Develops annual corporate political contribution plans. Ensures compliance with States and Federal law. Represents WCG at National forums.Department: Government RelationsLocation: Raleigh, NCReports To: Director Business DevelopmentEssential Functions:

  • Launch and manage WellCare's federal political action committee.
  • Develops (with input from state market leaders) annual state and corporate political contribution plans and ensures compliance checks/filings with state and federal contribution laws.
  • Manages oversight of the company's corporate political activities Policy and Procedure
  • Represents WellCare at national policy maker association meetings and forums (e.g. NAMD, NCSL, NGA, RGA, DGA)
  • Facilitates relationship building between national associations and potential customer and WellCare's market, government affairs staff and Business Development personnel.
  • Identifies and vets external lobbying firms in potential new markets in coordination with state government affairs director and manager.
  • Develops and manages an employee advocacy and grassroots strategy and program.
  • Research and analysis preview of elections.
  • Performs annual policy and procedure attestations.
  • Annual report to the Regulatory Compliance Committee (RCC).

Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, political science, or related field is required.Experience: 7 years in a health care environment or related field. Preference to applicants with Medicaid or Medicare government or private/public sector, state legislative or regulatory, and/or experience with budgeting and contracts.Technical Skills/Requirements:Expert PowerPoint skills to create complex presentations is requiredAdvanced MS Office skills required including Word, Excel, Access and OutlookShare Point skills or training.
