Deputy Director Center for Evidence-based Policy The Center for Evidence-based Policy ( http://www.centerforevidencebasedpolicy.org ) is a national leader in evidence-based decision making and policy design. The Center works with federal, state and local policymakers in more than 25 states to use high-quality evidence to guide decisions, maximize resources and improve health outcomes. The Center is objective and non-partisan, working in states across the country to support evidence-based decision-making. The Center does not lobby, and does not accept funding from industry, advocates, or trade associations. Though embedded within OHSU, the Center is entirely self-supporting. The Center is looking for an experienced leader to serve as its Deputy Director. The Deputy Director collaborates with the Director to create and implement strategic plans, supervise and support the Center’s employees, secure new business, and collaborate and communicate with high-level stakeholders in government and policy, business, and community settings. The Deputy represents the Center externally and is responsible for sustaining existing client relationships as well as developing new business opportunities that are aligned with the Center's mission. The ideal candidate will have ten or more years of diverse and substantial experience in executive or senior level positions related to public or governmental policy development and an advanced degree in public policy, health, legal, or a related field or equivalent experience. She or he will have strong leadership skills, including the ability to positively motivate personnel, and will have a successful track record of business development and/or resource diversification. This position requires excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate strategically with policymakers, synthesize large amounts of information, create decision briefs and effectively communicate about politically sensitive issues.
