Job Description

Prevent Blindness (, America’s leading eye health and safety organization is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Government Affairs.  This position will guide Prevent Blindness’ policy agenda, direct our federal advocacy initiatives and annual patient fly-in event; and act as a technical resource and consultant to affiliates and other groups on advocacy related topics and be an integral and supportive part of the entire Prevent Blindness team.  A background in public policy is strongly preferred (this should include an understanding of payor issues – including Medicaid, Medicare, the Affordable Care Act, and current health care debate issues; legislative and administrative advocacy; and grassroots organizing).  Bachelor’s degree is required, master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.  This position will be based in Washington DC.  Only résumés with salary history will be considered.
