Coastal Water Resources - We at WGC are concerned about the natiion's coasts - their ports, navigation channels, resilience to global warming and use of new but proven science to protecxt environmental resources and employ natural and nature-based features to enhance coastal sustainability. We are equally concerned about the policies -- and lack thereof -- for managing our coasts.
Inland Navigation, Dams & Levees - Do a quick Google search to see all of the reports of the decrepitude of these systems. 90% of what is within your site right now or that will be on your table for your next meal, came via water. Use the word "Infrastructure" and people think highways. Water is our Silent Infrastructure but it is critical to our domestic economy and our abilility to compete in the world economy.
Money - There isn't enough federal, state & local government money to repair the inland locks, maintain the inland and coastal levees, maintain navigation channels and deepen ports to meet world competition, WGC is studying financing alternatives.
