Together, we can help people build stronger communities — we're just getting started.Facebook is looking for a driven Public Policy Manager to support executive leaders at the company and see projects to fruition. You'll work on issues related to the Internet and Facebook's mission of giving people the power to build community and bringing the world closer together. These issues include, but are not limited to: data privacy, data security, telecommunications, energy, cybersecurity, and consumer protection. In this role, you will work with both the Legislative Branch and third-party groups as a clear line of communication, helping to advocate on behalf of the company's mission and goals. The ideal candidate will have established relationships and experience working at the federal level on our key issues. 
We're looking for a persistent collaborator who can combine their passion for our issues with a working knowledge of the political dynamics of both the Legislative Branch and third-party groups. An ideal candidate can manage multiple projects at once, with varying timelines and solutions, and coordinate all involved parties. You have a demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships both inside the company and externally, as well as facilitate and work towards collaborative solutions to complex problems, and an affable, go-getter personality to boot. 


  • Maintain and build relationships with federal policymakers and external advocates.
  • Cross-functionally work with internal stakeholders such as legal, communications, and the broader policy team.
  • See team projects and long-term strategies to completion.
  • Advocate, internally and externally, policy positions that keep Facebook and the broader technology industry competitive and innovative.
  • Coordinate collaboration between internal and external partners.
  • Build coalitions to help advance and support Facebook’s policy agenda.
  • Communicate Facebook’s positions to policymakers and to external stakeholders.
  • Identify, monitor and analyze relevant policy trends and issues of importance to the company.
  • Articulate our policy positions in briefing papers, internal and external policy meetings.
  • Execute strategies for engaging with public policymakers and stakeholders around issues important to Facebook and the people we serve.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience managing legislation and/or government relations and advocacy work
  • 5+ years of Public Policy experience
  • Experience advising Members of Congress/principles
  • Experience prioritizing multiple simultaneous projects
  • Knowledge of how congress and the external legislative ecosystem operates
  • Knowledge of the current US political atmosphere and process

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hill experience
  • Ability to think, plan, and execute resourcefully
  • Ability to recognize areas for improvement and execute autonomously
