The Community Engagement Coordinator engages in ongoing assessment and development of collaborative activities including city, county, state providers and services; to improve behavioral health alternatives. Interfaces and creates relationships with communities across Tampa Bay. Builds connections and fosters collaboration between communities with particular issues, concerns and needs specific to behavioral health. Coordinates efforts related to the BayCare Behavioral Health Alliance group. Serves as BayCare Behavioral Health Community Benefits Liaison. 

Assists Federal Government Relations Manager in developing public policy messages advancing federal legislative and regulatory priorities. Researches and writes federal position papers, comment letters, and related advocacy materials to advance BayCare priorities. Represents the BayCare Government Relations team for internal and external legislative updates or other presentation needs. Promotes behavioral health legislative priorities at the local, state and federal levels, ensuring coordination with federal and state government relations managers. Represents BayCare in Washington DC and Tallahassee as needed.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field. Master’s degree preferred. Five years of community outreach or behavioral health experience also required. Government Relations experience is strongly preferred.
