Job Description

DIRECTOR, State Government Affairs needed to advocate for member interest in assigned states.  You will be responsible for researching the impact of proposed legislation, lobbying state policymakers, drafting and delivering legislative testimony, developing regulatory comments, coordinating with and managing contracted lobbyists in assigned states, managing association member engagement, developing or building upon relationships with public officials and other influential policy makers at the state and local levels, and coordination of state grassroots efforts. 

Bachelor's Degree required with five to seven years of experience with state legislative and/or regulatory process.  Strong desire and ability to work independently, but also to collaborate effectively with colleagues, peers, membership and other internal and external constituencies.  Ability to conduct individual research and analyze/summarize complex issues.  Very strong written and verbal communications skills.  Strong desire to work in a high tempo, multi-tasking work environment. Understanding of healthcare and/or pharmaceutical/pharmacy issues strongly preferred.  Multistate government affairs experience strongly preferred.  Multistate government affairs experience strongly preferred. Must be willing to travel 40-60% of the time, at times with limited notice.
