The Role: Linktree operates in a complicated legislative and regulatory landscape, straddling between a social media service and a content curator. This is a unique experience to join Linktree to head-up its government and regulatory affairs internationally. We’re looking for an experienced Head of International Legislative & Regulatory Affairs to monitor, analyse and advocate on key issues that affect the Linktree business, and build out our policy positions. You would identify legislative and regulatory developments that affect Linktree globally and build and execute on a strategy for developing relationships with key regulators and government stakeholders. Internal communications would also be a huge part of this role as you would need to ensure awareness of potential implications of legislative and regulatory changes. Another key responsibility would be to engage with industry associations to further Linktree’s interests, including by participating in consultation responses and legislative drafting exercises. What We Are Looking For: We would love to hear from you if you have a university degree and a post-graduate degree in Law, Public Policy, International Relations, or similar as well as 10+ years experience of monitoring, developing and implementing international public policy strategies across multiple jurisdictions. You would also need to be someone with excellent oral and written communication skills, with an ability to pursue deliberate simplicity when condensing and explaining complex matters to internal and external stakeholders. To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated influence with executives and third parties, have resilience in the face of change and creativity in your approach to policy positions. It is also critical that you've had at least some exposure to working within government or Capitol Hill. You'll be coming in as the first person at Linktree within this space but will later build and grow a team, so some people management experience would be a bonus. The key responsibilities of this role would be to: Monitor, analyse and advocate on key issues that affect the Linktree business, and build out our policy positions (including in the complicated landscape of online content, social media services, data and privacy, algorithm responsibilities, digital economy and taxation) Identify legislative and regulatory developments that affect Linktree globally (with a focus on Linktree’s key markets of US, Australia, Indonesia, Brazil, the EU, and India) Build and execute on a strategy for developing relationships with key regulators and government stakeholders Deliver regular communications to internal stakeholders (including Legal, Product and Engineering) to ensure awareness of potential implications of legislative and regulatory changes and coordinate with internal teams to ensure Linktree is prepared for such changes Engage with industry associations (including DIGI in Australia) to further Linktree’s interests, including by participating in consultation responses and legislative drafting exercises Manage GR agencies in countries where we have no on-the-ground presence Where & How We Work We are a global, diverse group across age, gender, and race and offer a truly flexible and family friendly work environment.
